We're a team of self professed "bike nerds" with a decades-long obsession that began with BMX bikes in the 80's and evolved into the earliest days of mountain biking. Most of us commute daily on e-bikes, but still grind hard on road, gravel and mountain bikes in our spare time. ALPEN was conceived while the founder was commuting by bike, twice daily, rain or shine, across the Golden Gate Bridge, from San Francisco to Marin County. Unfortunately, his bikes kept getting stolen from his tiny, overpriced apartment, so he set out to revolutionize the way bikes are parked, protected, charged and distributed. The dream of an e-bike at every doorstep began to take shape just as the micromobility revolution kicked in to full swing.
